Estimates, not guarantees
Results are deterministic estimates from your inputs, your prices and standard reference conventions (cu yd = area × depth ÷ 324; tons = cu yd × density; grass seed lb = area × rate ÷ 1,000; pavers = area ×(1+waste) ÷ paver face; watering gal = area × inches × 0.623). Real projects vary — verify measurements and figures before relying on them.
Coverage varies — buy a little extra
Material quantities are planning estimates: coverage varies by product (bag size, compaction, waste, slope and how tightly you pack). Buy about 5–10% extra and confirm the coverage printed on the product before you order.
Not a bid, not a price index
Cost tools give planning estimates from your own prices, not bids or contracts, and we store no material or service price list, labor-rate database or regional cost index. Get itemized written quotes from licensed, insured landscapers and contractors.
Tree work is dangerous
Removing trees or clearing land is dangerous work. Large trees or trees near buildings, power lines or people can cause serious injury and property damage. Hire a licensed, insured arborist — the tree tools are for budgeting only.
Retaining walls & local code
Retaining walls taller than about 3–4 ft (or holding a surcharge or slope) usually need an engineer's design and a permit. Confirm height limits, drainage and permit rules with your local building department. Nothing here is landscape-engineering or architecture design, a horticultural prescription or a code-compliance certificate.
No financial advice
Any savings or comparison framing is illustrative math on the figures you enter — not financial advice. Prices and product performance vary, and savings are never guaranteed. For sizing, design, permitting or financing decisions, consult a qualified professional.
